Apostolos set includes a necklace and earrings. The central piece is a used-to-be bronze follis, struck in Constantinople, during Romanos III Argyros’ reign, sometime between 1028 and 1034.
The front side shows Christ Pantocrator, a specific depiction of Christ. Pantocrator usually translated as “Almighty” or “all-powerful”, is derived from one of many names of God and symbolizes a mild but stern, all-powerful judge of humanity. The image of Christ Pantocrator was one of the first images of Christ developed in the Early Christian Church and remains a central icon of the Eastern Orthodox Church. In the half-length image, Christ holds the New Testament in his left hand and makes the gesture of teaching or of blessing with his right.
On the reverse side you will see a large cross set upon three steps, IS XS above crossbar and BASILЄ/ BASILЄ in two lines below.
This beautiful piece is framed with garnets (standing for blood) and sapphires (standing for bread) as reminder of the Last Super. Metal parts are pure copper.
A necklace has extender, so you can adjust the length up to your needs and outfit.
